Red Alert Riding for Anthony Nolan

Our founder and MD, Clive Gawler, has accepted a challenge to ride in the Prudential 100 for the bloodcancer charity, Anthony Nolan, on Sunday 30th July.

We are asking our suppliers and customers to help support this extraordinary charity by way of sponsorship; any size of financial donation will be very gratefully received and all funds will go directly to Anthony Nolan. By way of thanks and recognition we are inviting business sponsors to send their logo and a brief paragraph about their company that we will then upload to both our telecare and security websites. Please send your logo and details to caroline.cooper@redalertuk.com who will add the information to the sites. We will be raising the profile of our fundraising through social media and a press release.

The Prudential 100 is a closed road cycle event of 100 miles. Clive will set off from the Olympic Stadium in Stratford, East London with about 25,000 other riders and after riding through central London and 70 miles of Surrey countryside complete the 100 mile route in about seven hours crossing the finishing line on The Mall.

Why Anthony Nolan?
The Shirley Nolan Award for Special Recognition was won by Alice Byron, a family friend. Despite being diagnosed with MDS and then leukaemia while in her final year at Cardiff University, Alice campaigned tirelessly for Anthony Nolan. She joined Cardiff Marrow to recruit donors and raise funds, and wrote an incredibly witty, honest and powerful blog about her experiences – which inspired thousands of people to join the register. Alice continued her studies in hospital and received a 2:1 for her English degree. She sadly passed away shortly after receiving a stem cell transplant aged just 21, but her legacy and the fundraising in her memory will have a lifesaving impact for years to come.
